We had some really great meals brought to us during 2 weeks after my surgery. It was such a blessing because everyone was really pulling their weight around the house to keep things up and this was one thing we didnt have to stress over. I actually think thats why I recovered so well because all this good yummy food was coming in and it kept me eating, and kept my strength up and helped the pain med not hurt my tummy which kept me from being ill. It was so nice for chris because he was so busy taking care of me. Sometimes I needed full time help even for a short time. Then the kids need full time attention. Then there is the house and yard, Mom was a huge help too. She stayed with me the first 5 days. It was awesome to have such good help. Another girlfriend came up, one of those days to give mom a break, and chris was back to work, and it was nice that it kept "moral" up and since I couldnt pick the kids up it was so great having an extra strong hand. Thank you guys, for the prayers, the cards, the gifts, and food. For time, and phone calls and emails. It was great support and I felt so loved! :)

The day before surgery with Westerly and Isurbelle

Weekend before surgery we had a little girls night. Lots of yummy yummy food and prayer and laughs and tears. It was great.

Wesley is getting all "snuggery" with the covers!

ooh arent they so sweet~

One day awhile back at chris's work..

We had cake out at Kristys house for Chris' birthday. She is showing off a huge watermelon!

We haven't went anywhere, we didnt go on vacation, and not like we lead a boring life, we have just been busy. But let me update you here a bit. The recovery went fine from the surgery. Let me just tell you, when you hear someone complain of "gas" post surgery.. dont take it lightly. It is the worst! So now Im just waiting to be released to swim and work out. But to not have constant stomach pain is very alarming for me. I had it for so long so much that now it seems very weird not to. I have had to get use to that.
Chris is busy keeping up with me and the kids and work and church. He is doing an awesome job taking care of our Finances. After we took the crown class that we took at church there is such a freedom with our money and chris is doing so well and taking care and im loving those Friday nights after he gets paid and we work together moving money around and where its going to go and what we are going to do.. its a lot of fun now!
Isabelle is growing up. She is just a lot of fun for me. She mimics so much and wants to learn. She spelled the word "stop" for me. We go thru days that require more discipline and structure and other days are just loaded with laughs and learning. She told me the other night when I was putting her to bed that we forgot to do our numbers! She loves her "school" time :)
We went to the fair last night and she wanted to ride all the big kid rides.. she thinks she is real big sometimes.
Wesley is growing like a weed. I have noticed this last week how big he has gotten. Its hard to tell when you are always with your child but when you notice its so unreal! He talks.. baby talk.. alot. its real sweet and quiet. He isnt saying much in the way of real words but he signs a few things to help with communication and that is handy. I was telling a few people this week about Reminiscing the past.. atleast a year and half ago past :) Isabelle was 15 months when we first started going to Parkland Chapel, that is Wesleys age now. Isabelle was saying 60 words at 16 months.. Come'on wesley start that talking! .. Just kidding.. Im Soo very happy he is so quiet! :)

Anywho I could go on but how about a few photos.
Oh, we have a new kitten :)

oh and we are full time with cloth diapers! Let me tell you, its NOT your momma's cloth diapers! We are only using disposable for night time :)
so excited about saving money!

Hey Coming home.....

I just got a call, Shelley is on her way to Walgreens and then Home..
She said it isn't as glamourous, as some people have made it out to be..... I am sure we will hear more about this at a later Blog date.
Pray for a speedy recovery..
thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.
Donna

Almost 3 and no new news...

Seems Shelley can't stay awake, guessing not only the meds, but wow, peace and quiet no one crying or saying Mommy , Mommy, I need to go potty:)ehhe
Think about it, if you had peace and quiet and could sleep all day, wouldn't you:)hehe
I will keep you posted.
Donna

Almost ready to come home...

You can post that Shelley's getting ready to walk!
That is from Chris , from aim:) i do love having so many way to communicate..;)

Still recovering

Well it is after 1.00 pm , and so far, I know she has had a cracker and some oral meds. She also has to get up and walk, and do a few more things before they let her come home.
Hopefully it won't be to much longer,I know she wants to be home and rest..Not in the hospital where they are bothering you;)

Post Surgery 3

9:15
Shelley is still in recovery
They said they will be moving her to her room in about 10 minutes
So it has been about 15 minutes, hopefully you are being moved to a room.
:)
Chris said "Back with shelley now"
Chris said, Shelley is in a lot of pain, like she has been kicked in the stomach by a horse.

Out of Surgery

8:25 - Doctor came out and said it all went well, gave me the script to get filled.
Things are going on schedule..

Taken back Already

I kinda thought I'd at least be able to go back while they set it all up, but they left me in the waiting room.

Post Surgery 2

7:15 - Nurse antithesis just came in and gave us the rundown, and Shelley gave him her history. Pastor Mike came by and prayed for us. Shelley says the heprin shot in her stomach hurts like a 2 inch bee sting.

Post Surgery 1

6:10 walked in the hospital
6:11 found out Kristy's cousin is going to be having a baby, before the family knows even!

Post Surgery

well, I am typing/writing for Shelley.
I just got some messages from Chris, so I will post those.
Stay tune, we are in for some good time today:)
Donna, watching the kids, while Shelley and Chris are doing their thing today:)

Me and my babies

Me and westerly being silly. Isabelle being sick ;/ but still just so sweet

Thinking and Thanking

We are preparing a wee bit for surgery in the morning. What do I mean by preparing? Well, I have found the body wash I need to use. Not eating and going thru the rest of my pre-surgery info. We are trying to get the house in order and getting a few lose ends wrapped up. During this we are taking care of another fever. Wesley came down with a fever the end of the week and now isabelle has it. That puts a damper you know on 'getting things done'. Nothing gets done when you have a sick baby. I am trusting in The Lord that what my plans are, aren't His. He has known (forever) that i was using this week to get things caught up. He knows how distracting a sick child is and how I had a list of things to get done. He knew it would place our family to not go to church together. So I look around and see laundry to wash, clothes to put away, a bathroom to clean and floors to vacuum. He knows that and trusting FULLY and believing in His sovereignty over such a small and tiny details as these things. I do in the big, why not in the small. He reigns after all. He gives us the strength to deal with these matters and wants us to recognize we have nothing and what we get is fully from His power; His mercy and grace.
So while im thinking about all of these things, im also thinking about the things that didn't get done are getting done by others. Many friends have been asking, they are praying. They are loving on us. Thats nice. I got a great blessing to be with several girfriends the other night and all whom are praying too. These people are getting done what im not. Some are making food ahead for us, some are ready to babysit at a moments notice, some are making pudding. So you see its encouraging to see the body of Christ moving with us. While I can't get EVERYTHING done because I am one weak person and distracted with sick kids Jesus is showing me that its not all about me and others are blessing me, and my family this way. Then after all this thinking one cant help but start Thanking. Im so thankful for Chris having time off work. I dont mind its vacation because its always nice when he is with us. The kids love him being home. I dont want to use up ALL vacation on sick days but what a blessing to have them. I hope in the fall to take a real vacation! Its a blessing to have mom close. She is so great and Isabelle just adores her. Westerly, he knows he needs her, but he doesnt always enjoy loving. He see's her more as the responsible party that has to be around. Im so thankful for my sisters. They are taking care of many things. Kristy has a first dinner covered and jessica has surprise diapers on the way!
I have a Get well card already given to me and im taking that with me to the hospital! We can read it in the car on the way home if nothing else. Several gals are asking what they can do and guys are calling or in person praying with us. What a group of body of believers.
My dearest friends' mom will probably be my nurse and how great, and maybe embarrassing it is to know the nurse who will be looking after me and only wanting my best interest!
This surgery coming up in the morning has us taking the time to ponder and think. And certainly time to Thank the Lord for the work in our lives and in our family and the great group of friends He has brought into our lives. Its been such a blessing to be in contact with many friends who I dont get to talk to as much or some that have been out of contact for years. The Lord works in great ways and has His perfect and wonderful timing. All who are so supportive and encouraged I will feel better after this procedure.
Thank you guys.. you each know who you are and I hope what you mean to chris and I. Remember, If i call you over the next few days and might be a big tipsy, please call chris or my mom and tell them you have been talking to me and make sure they know! :)
I cant be held responsible from pain meds ;P
Mom is gonna keep the blog posted while im out for a few days so check in or call :)
