We are preparing a wee bit for surgery in the morning. What do I mean by preparing? Well, I have found the body wash I need to use. Not eating and going thru the rest of my pre-surgery info. We are trying to get the house in order and getting a few lose ends wrapped up. During this we are taking care of another fever. Wesley came down with a fever the end of the week and now isabelle has it. That puts a damper you know on 'getting things done'. Nothing gets done when you have a sick baby. I am trusting in The Lord that what my plans are, aren't His. He has known (forever) that i was using this week to get things caught up. He knows how distracting a sick child is and how I had a list of things to get done. He knew it would place our family to not go to church together. So I look around and see laundry to wash, clothes to put away, a bathroom to clean and floors to vacuum. He knows that and trusting FULLY and believing in His sovereignty over such a small and tiny details as these things. I do in the big, why not in the small. He reigns after all. He gives us the strength to deal with these matters and wants us to recognize we have nothing and what we get is fully from His power; His mercy and grace.
So while im thinking about all of these things, im also thinking about the things that didn't get done are getting done by others. Many friends have been asking, they are praying. They are loving on us. Thats nice. I got a great blessing to be with several girfriends the other night and all whom are praying too. These people are getting done what im not. Some are making food ahead for us, some are ready to babysit at a moments notice, some are making pudding. So you see its encouraging to see the body of Christ moving with us. While I can't get EVERYTHING done because I am one weak person and distracted with sick kids Jesus is showing me that its not all about me and others are blessing me, and my family this way. Then after all this thinking one cant help but start Thanking. Im so thankful for Chris having time off work. I dont mind its vacation because its always nice when he is with us. The kids love him being home. I dont want to use up ALL vacation on sick days but what a blessing to have them. I hope in the fall to take a real vacation! Its a blessing to have mom close. She is so great and Isabelle just adores her. Westerly, he knows he needs her, but he doesnt always enjoy loving. He see's her more as the responsible party that has to be around. Im so thankful for my sisters. They are taking care of many things. Kristy has a first dinner covered and jessica has surprise diapers on the way!
I have a Get well card already given to me and im taking that with me to the hospital! We can read it in the car on the way home if nothing else. Several gals are asking what they can do and guys are calling or in person praying with us. What a group of body of believers.
My dearest friends' mom will probably be my nurse and how great, and maybe embarrassing it is to know the nurse who will be looking after me and only wanting my best interest!
This surgery coming up in the morning has us taking the time to ponder and think. And certainly time to Thank the Lord for the work in our lives and in our family and the great group of friends He has brought into our lives. Its been such a blessing to be in contact with many friends who I dont get to talk to as much or some that have been out of contact for years. The Lord works in great ways and has His perfect and wonderful timing. All who are so supportive and encouraged I will feel better after this procedure.
Thank you guys.. you each know who you are and I hope what you mean to chris and I. Remember, If i call you over the next few days and might be a big tipsy, please call chris or my mom and tell them you have been talking to me and make sure they know! :)
I cant be held responsible from pain meds ;P
Mom is gonna keep the blog posted while im out for a few days so check in or call :)
